DPZ once again a certified family friendly institution

The Administrative Director Michael Lankeit accepted the quality seal in Berlin. In future, the German Primate Center will further highlight the complexity of "Care" in its efforts towards family-friendliness.

For the second time since 2011, the German Primate Center (DPZ) received the family friendly certification in accordance with the guidelines of "berufundfamilie". On Tuesday, June 17, the administrative director of the DPZ Michael Lankeit officially accepted the certificate from Iris Gleicke, the parliamentary state secretary at the federal ministry for economics. The DPZ is one of 322 employers who received the certificate. The “berufundfamilie gGmbH“ an initiative of the non-profit Hertie Foundation that decides on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs and the Federal Ministry for Economics whether an institution meets the criteria for the seal of quality. Other than the DPZ, 157 companies, 125 other institutions and 39 universities received the certificate in Berlin.

“We are delighted to accept the certificate for a second time. The DPZ staff appreciates the flexibility to create more time for their families,” Michael Lankeit added upon receiving the award once again. In the near future, the DPZ will take intensive measures to inform the staff on the possibilities of nursing care for family members.

This method of auditing to find out if an institute has an agreement to coordinate work and family can be implemented in all branches of industry with variable company sizes. This was developed in cooperation with the suggestions for improvements of the evaluators and a binding aim to incorporate family awareness in corporate culture.
