The German Primate Center (DPZ) - Leibniz Institute for Primate Research is one of 96 research and infrastructure establishments of the Leibniz Association. It conducts basic biological and biomedical research in all fields in which non-human primates play essential roles: in particular in infection research, the neurosciences and organismic primate biology. Besides its research infrastructure in Göttingen the DPZ maintains four field stations to do research on and with primates.
Research of the Infection Biology Unit is focused on respiratory viruses including the emerging SARS-CoV-2. Within the framework of these projects, we as of right now have an externally funded 18-month half-time post available for a
Postdoctoral Researcher (f/m/d)
The successful applicant will study the host cell interactions of SARS-CoV-2 and the respiratory epithelium of domestic animal species.
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. or an equivalent degree in virology or related biomedical sciences. Experience in research in a high-containment laboratory (BSL3) is a plus. Expertise in techniques of molecular virology and biochemistry is preferred. Curiosity, diligence and the ability to work in a team are essential.
The appointment at the DPZ follows the applied regulations of civil service. The classification follows the TV-L. Disabled applicants with equal qualification will be given preferential consideration. We kindly ask you to indicate in your application if you are disabled.
