PhD student (f/m/d)

The German Primate Center (DPZ) - Leibniz Institute for Primate Research is one of 95 research and infrastructure establishments of the Leibniz Association. It conducts basic biological and biomedical research in all fields in which non-human primates play essential roles: in particular in infection research, the neurosciences and organismic primate biology. Besides its research infrastructure in Göttingen the DPZ maintains four field stations for research on and with primates.

The Infection Biology Unit of DPZ investigates virus-host cell interactions and their impact on viral spread and pathogenesis. Within a DFG-funded project a position for a

The project is integrated into SPP 1923, Innate Sensing and Restriction of Retroviruses, and builds on a close collaboration with partners at the Max-Planck-Institute for Biophysical Chemistry.

Applicants must hold a Master’s degree or diploma in life sciences or related fields. Applicants should have a keen interest in virology and should be highly motivated to perform experimental research in a stimulating and highly interactive scientific environment.
