The German Primate Center (DPZ) - Leibniz Institute for Primate Research is one of 97 research and infrastructure establishments of the Leibniz Association. It conducts basic biological and biomedical research in all fields in which non-human primates play essential roles: particularly in infection research, neurosciences, and organismic primate biology. Besides its research infrastructure in Göttingen, the DPZ maintains four field stations for research on and with primates www.dpz.eu/en/about-us/profile/mission.html
The Social Neurobiology Lab at the German Primate Center (DPZ) is hiring a:
Postdoc in Neurophysiology of Social Connection (f/m/d)
The Social Neurobiology Lab is a Junior Research Group funded by the European Research Council led by Raymundo Baez-Mendoza, Ph.D. We investigate the neuronal basis of social connection in humans and non-human primates. To this end, we use behavioral testing and measurements and electrophysiological recordings and perturbations. For more information, visit our website, baezlab.co
The temporary position is available immediately (TV-L E13) with an initial appointment for 2 years. Contract extensions are possible. The goal of the project is to investigate the neuronal mechanisms of group cooperation and the maintenance of social ties in both marmosets and humans.
The postdoc should have a doctoral degree, a passion for social interactions and their neuronal basis, and strong quantitative and experimental skills. Prior experience with electrophysiology is an asset but not essential.
We offer a pleasant work environment, modern work equipment, flexible and family-friendly working hours, as well as the possibility to occasionally work from home or remotely. The working language in our department is English.
The appointment at DPZ follows the regulations of civil service. The classification follows the TV-L and a VBL pension provision. Applicants with disabilities and equal qualifications will be given preferential consideration. We kindly ask you to indicate any disabilities in your application.
In your application, include a cover letter, your CV, and the names and contacts of up to three references, as well as all certificates, until 1st October 2022, with the keyword “Social Neurobiology postdoc” to Deutsches Primatenzentrum GmbH – Leibniz Institut für Primatenforschung – Personnel Office – Kellnerweg 4 – 37077 Göttingen or via e-mail to bewerbung(at)dpz.eu.
