Management Board

The management conducts the business of the DPZ in accordance with the applicable legal provisions, the articles of association and the resolutions of the shareholders' meeting and the supervisory board. The shareholders are the state of Lower Saxony and the federal government.

The Management Board team

In managing the DPZ and shaping the administrative, organisational and infrastructural framework for science, the management is supported by two team assistants, a consultant and a controller. They coordinate enquiries, committee work, appointments and performance enquiries, are responsible for controlling and the coordination of data protection and personnel development.

Safety at Work

Safety engineer Ralf Göltzer is responsible for occupational safety at the DPZ.

Purchasing and contract awards

The purchasing department is responsible for all procurements and their complete processing in accordance with legal requirements. This area also includes all procurement logistics and warehouse management. In addition, the purchasing department is responsible for negotiating and drafting supplier contracts.

Finance

All finance and accounting transactions are processed in the finance department. This includes financial accounting, asset accounting, the processing of tax matters, the preparation of program budgets and the implementation of cost and performance accounting as well as travel expense accounting.

Research Coordination

The Research Coordination Staff Unit supports DPZ researchers in all financial and administrative tasks of scientific project management, from the acquisition of third-party funding, including the preparation of funding applications with financial planning, to contract negotiations, management of third-party funding, and any aspects of knowledge & technology transfer. In addition, the Research Coordination organizes and coordinates an international training course on working with non-human primates (NHP), the NHP-specific Laboratory Animal Science (LAS) Course.

Facility management

Facility Management maintains the technical facilities and buildings of the DPZ. They are the point of contact for questions relating to space, lighting, air conditioning, water, waste water, steam, gases, laboratory media, electrical systems and repairs.

Information technology

The Information Technology Unit provides and develops the IT infrastructure of the German Primate Center. It regularly trains IT specialists specializing in system integration.

Communications

The Communications Office informs media representatives, the public and staff about current events at the DPZ. It arranges contacts with DPZ scientists, organizes public tours and various events. Contact persons for interview requests, filming permits, image requests, guided tours and events can be found in the DPZ press portal.

Human resources

Human Resources is the point of contact for applicants and all DPZ employees. Together with Purchasing and Finance, the Human Resources department regularly trains office management assistants. Current vacancies can be found in the job portal of the German Primate Center.

Representative for severely disabled persons

The tasks of the representative body for severely disabled employees include promoting and ensuring the professional integration of severely disabled employees at the DPZ, representing the interests of people with disabilities and ensuring that applicable collective agreements, guidelines, laws and regulations are complied with. It also provides support in applying to the relevant authorities for measures for severely disabled people.

PhD students representative

The PhD students representatives are the contact point for all matters concerning doctoral students at the DPZ: support with administrative questions, referral to suitable contact persons or networking. They also organize workshops, seminars and get-togethers.
