Our core interests lie in understanding the neural processing underlying flexible goal-directed behavior and cognition in primates. These functions are supported by distributed neural circuitry across the two brain hemispheres, and one emphasis of our work is on understanding local and inter-areal interactions not only within but also between the hemispheres. Secondly, we focus on thalamo-cortical interactions, especially the thalamic pulvinar. We utilize a broad array of methods and approaches in non-human primates and humans; the unifying coherent theme is the sensorimotor integration and decision-making.
