Starting this October, the German Primate Center invites ageing researchers to Göttingen for a lecture series. The series titled "Aging and Neurodegeneration" will present new results about the process of ageing, with a special focus on its neuroscientific aspects.

The first speaker of the series, Jens Schwamborn, investigates stem cell biology and Parkinson's disease at the University of Luxembourg.

The DPZ thus offers its employees and the interested public a scientific point of view on a relevant social topic that will in the future be investigated in a new unit at the DPZ. In addition to the establishment of the new imaging facility the DPZ will also establish a new unit for ageing research.

The lectures are open to the public. Registration is not required. So far three talks have been scheduled, additional ones will follow.
