December 3, 2022 is the so-called Purple Light Up Day – the day of people with disabilities. We at the DPZ support inclusion and participation of people with severe disabilities. With our purple-lit foyer we stand up for the rights and concerns of people with disabilities.

As part of the network for inclusion and participation for people with disabilities in the Leibniz Association, we stand for a barrier-free working environment. Through the network, the Leibniz Association promotes the exchange of experiences and ideas between the various institutes in order to support the successful long-term participation of severely disabled people at work. To this end, the representatives of severely disabled people at the institutes work towards greater transparency with regard to the situation of severely disabled employees and network at regular meetings twice a year.

The confidential counsellors of the representative body for employees with disabilities at the DPZ offer advice and support on questions and concerns about chronic illness and disability in the workplace. For example, the representatives offer to check whether additional claims for support exist according to the law and, if necessary, contact the responsible authorities to apply for resources. We are well connected!
