The German Primate Center

The German Primate Center (DPZ) is a research institute in Göttingen. Primates, i.e. monkeys, are researched here. The researchers mainly study diseases, the brain and the behavior of the animals. The DPZ ensures that research is conducted fairly and according to strict rules. It is important to them to speak openly and honestly about their work. The institute ensures that the monkeys are well looked after. It also helps other researchers by advising them and providing them with animals from its own breeding program. The DPZ also has four stations abroad. Monkeys are researched there in their natural environment.
