I lead the Visual Circuits & Interfaces junior research group, where we study the neural circuits underlying visual processing and develop optogenetic methods to create artificial visual perception.

 

Our current focus is foundational research on the development of an optogenetic cortical prosthesis, as a novel approach to restore vision in blind patients. We work with marmosets as a model system to develop and test these approaches.
