Short Profile

I study human and monkey behavior by asking: “Wait, what?!” Why that behavior, and why at that exact moment? By asking this question, I'm fascinated by the algorithms the brain employs to generate behavior and make decisions. I use mathematical models to explain naturalistic behavior.

I completed my PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience at SISSA, Italy. My doctoral research, conducted under the supervision of Prof. Mathew E. Diamond in Trieste, focused on decision-making in both rats and humans.

Since June 2023, I have been a postdoctoral researcher at the German Primate Center (DPZ), where I am particularly interested in understanding not only how naturalistic decisions are made, but also when they occur.
