A guided tour to the outdoor facilities of the primate husbandry. Manfred Eberle

Guided tours

If you are interested in our research and are at least 15 years old, we cordially invite you to a guided tour. This one and a half hour event usually consists of a talk about the DPZ and a tour of the outdoor facilities of the primate husbandry. For dates of our public guided tours (from May to October), please refer to the Events section. You can also register there.

For school classes (from 10th grade, from 10 persons) and student groups (from 10 persons) we also organize guided tours on other dates (Mondays to Fridays). In exceptional cases, if there is a scientific connection to our research, we can also organize separate guided tours for other groups. We are happy to combine the event with special lectures on our main research areas such as infection biology, stem cell research, genetics, neuroscience or behavioral research or with a discussion on animal experiments in research. Please send an e-mail to Susanne Schumacher with your preferred dates, group type, group size and a telephone number for queries. Please let us know if you have any special prior knowledge or interests. Please note that we are not a zoo and therefore our guided tours are not suitable for “excursions”.

General information about our guided tours:

  • Please bring weatherproof clothing as the tour will take place outside (however, the lecture will take place in the lecture hall or seminar room)
  • Please note that the tour is not suitable for visitors with limited mobility. Seating is not available in the outdoor area.
  • Please note that our guided tours that are announced in the event calendar are in German language. Tours for schools, students and other groups can also be booked in English language
