Award for Abhi Dwarakanath
Abhi Dwarakanath has been honored with the prestigious William James Prize of the Association for the Scientific Study of Consciousness (ASSC). The prize recognizes outstanding scientific contributions to the empirical or philosophical understanding of consciousness.
Dwarakanath receives the award for his groundbreaking research on the mechanisms of conscious perception. His studies combine direct neuronal recordings from the brain of macaques during a special case of multistable perception with principles of network dynamics and signal processing. He has thus made a significant contribution to interdisciplinary consciousness research.
The William James Prize is awarded annually to a young scientist who has published an outstanding scientific paper on the study of consciousness within five years of completing their doctorate.
