In addition to pathological diagnostics for non-human primates, the Pathology Unit also offers a submission diagnostics service for domestic animals. In addition to sample materials from domestic animals, tissues and aspirates from laboratory and zoo animals are also analysed.
The focus of histopathology service of domestic animals is on
- Tumour diagnostics (histology, cytology, immunohistochemistry)
- Dermatohistopathology
- Diagnostics of organ spectra and biopsies
Dr Bleyer, a veterinary pathology specialist with many years of experience in the field of histological and diagnostic examinations of small and large animals, is responsible for the diagnostic examinations.

The individual examination report includes
- a macroscopic description of the sample material sent
- a histo- or cytopathological description of the findings of the specimens
- a pathomorphological diagnosis and
- a summarised evaluation including interpretation of the described findings, taking into account the clinical question and information on the prognosis
