DPZ Photo award

Pictures say more than a thousand words – especially when it comes to raising awareness for primate research. Every year, the DPZ invites its employees to show what they associate with the DPZ through photography. 

A jury appointed by the DPZ Support Association selects the best pictures in each category from all the entries. The criteria are choice of subject and relevance to the DPZ, composition, technical quality, originality (of the situation), and aesthetic appeal. The selected pictures are professionally mounted in A3 format and exhibited at the DPZ so that employees and guests can vote on the photographs. Many of the photos can also be found in the DPZ wall calendars.

The winners are announced at the yearly DPZ Christmas party, with prize money of 200 euros awaiting the first prize in each category. Below you will find a small selection of pictures from previous years.
