Within her lab rotation Alexandra Futter („Molecular Life Sciences“ program) investigates trypsin-independent spread of influenza viruses in cell lines, engineered to express certain host  cell proteases. For this, she uses influenza viruses encoding reporter genes and she is generating new reporter viruses with improved biological properties.
