The Infection Biology Unit headed by Stefan Pöhlmann has worked on coronaviruses for many years. During the current COVID-19 pandemic, researchers around the world asked the Infection Biology Unit for reagents and samples. Since mid-February, the department has already sent 253 samples to 22 countries. The majority of the samples were shipped to colleagues in Europe located in 12 countries. Samples were also sent to colleagues outside Europe. Most of them went to the United States. We would like to thank all employees who, despite the current high amount of work, are still managing this additional task!
