As part of her internship and subsequent Bachelor thesis, Svenja Kaufman (B.Sc. Biology program) investigates whether mutations within the Ebola virus glycoprotein, which have been selected upon blockade of specific host cell factors, impact the efficiency of host cell entry. For this, Svenja will use cell culture systems that model Ebola virus infection.
