We are focused on the analysis of next-generation sequencing data (mainly based on Illumina sequencing). Especially, we are interested in the usage and (further) development of bioinformatic methods in the areas of:
Genomics/Exomics
- Analysis of variants (detection of SNPs, Indels)
- Screen for positively selected genes
- PAN-genome-analyses
- ATACseq-analyses
- Detection of mitochondrial insertions into the genome of parasites
Transkriptomics
- Anlaysis of differential gene expressions
Parasites & Mikrobiomics
- Analysis of the microbial flora in feces
- Detection of parasites in feces
Retrogenomics
- Detection of known and so far unkown transposable elements in the genomes of primates
RNomics
- Analysis of non-protein-coding RNAs, especially IncRNAs
Mapping and/or assembly of raw data (de nova and/or reference-based)
Data-processing and compilation for phylogenetic analyses
Development of application programs
BILD
- GPAC: http://www.bioinformatics.uni-muenster.de/tools/gpac/
- TSDfinder (in progress): An applications to analyze and (newly) determine transposable elements in more detail
- R-based Apps, e.g.:
For the depiction of different heatmaps dependent on user-selected input data.
For the user-friendly, detailed analysis of variants, haplotypes- and/or species (high-throughput-sequencing).
