"Dear DPZ-employees, the moment has arrived!" With these words, CEO Michael Lankeit welcomed the approximately 100 DPZ-employees who came to the opening of the new DPZ-cafeteria. On 12 October "CaPri" was inaugurated with bubbly, coffee and cake in an appropriate manner.

Lankeit added that he was very happy that the long planning and construction phases have been completed successfully and that the DPZ now finally has its own central social area. In future, all DPZ employees are cordially invited to spend their lunch break "on CaPri, in CaPri or at CaPri".

In early July, construction work to transform the former main entrance into a cafeteria began. Upon completion of the new multi purpose building earlier this year, the former main entrance area of the Institute became available and was perfectly suited for the new cafeteria.

The CaPri is operated by the Studentenwerk of Göttingen. Karin Bönig who has been employed by the Stundentenwerk for the past 13 years is responsible for fresh rolls and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. "I like it here at the CaPri", she says. "We have a wonderful atmosphere, very good new equipment and the DPZ employees are very friendly."

Last year the DPZ employees had the opportunity to democratically elect a name for the new cafeteria. The word composition "CaPri", a combination of café and primate was the most popular. In future, the new cafeteria should not only serve as a place for the small in-between-meal but also as a central meeting place and should serve as a location for DPZ guests.

The opening hours are Monday to Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Customers have the choice of many different sandwiches and baguettes, an assortment of cakes and pastries, a variety of hot snacks such as panini, focaccia, pizza and stromboli as well as sweets and ice cream. Various coffees, tea and a good selection of cold drinks are also available. Payment in the cafeteria can be in cash or with a Mensa card, which can be recharged in the foyer.
