Stephan Weil learns about the work of the ScienceCampus
He recognized himself, even though is face had been merged with that of his predecessor David McAllister. Stephan Weil, the Prime Minister of Lower Saxony, visited the exhibition of the German Primate Center and the Leibniz ScienceCampus Primate Cognition during the Opening Event of the Annual Assembly of the Leibniz Association in Berlin. How humans and monkeys process faces is one of the research topics of the Campus and was displayed during the exhibition. Michael Berger and Michael Niessing used a touchscreen-based task to present details of rhesus monkey brain research. While playing darts, the visitors could experience at first hand how the brain adjusts to altered perceptions: if the perception of reality is changed when wearing prisma glasses, they rapidly adjusted to the apparently displaced dart board and quickly managed to hit the target again.
