Infrastructure

The field station is located near the west coast of Madagascar in central Menabe, some 60 km north-east of Morondava (Google Maps)

The field station provides basic accommodation for about 10 researchers and our team of about 15 Malagasy employees. The field station is provided with solar power, kitchen, and several buildings where we store our equipment.

In the surrounding forest we have developed two main study areas covering ~230 ha with a grid system of more than 130 km of food trails.

In Morondava we have a base (Villa Mirza) from which the provisioning and logistics is organized.
