PhD positions
The Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory of Prof. Stefan Treue, the Sensorimotor Group of Prof. Dr. Alexander Gail and the Decision and Awareness Group of Dr. Igor Kagan invite applications for PhD positions.
In our laboratories we investigate the neural basis of visual attention, visual motion perception, sensorimotor processing, spatial cognition, decision making, and neuroprosthetics. We focus primarily on extracellular recordings from the cerebral cortex and thalamus of non-human primates and on human psychophysics. Additionally, functional imaging of brain activity in non-human primates, including associated studies in humans, and computational neural modeling play an important role in our research.
As part of the Center for System Neuroscience (CSN) and the Bernstein Center for Computational Neuroscience (BCCN) we offer a stimulating, multi-disciplinary research environment with a strong background in both, experimental and computational neuroscience. Students can choose among multiple neuroscience PhD programs of the Göttingen Graduate School for Neurosciences, Biophysics, and Molecular Biosciences (GGNB).
We look for highly motivated students with a strong interest in system neuroscience. A degree in neuroscience, physics, engineering, biology, psychology, or related fields and a good command of English are required. Experience in programming is of significant advantage.
For your application please use our application form and send it via email, together with the required documents listed in the form, as a single pdf file attachment.
