Stereology describes the spatial structural anlysis of sections and enables conclusions regarding 3-dimensional quantities from 2-dimensional tissue sections. Sterological analyses are performed on tissue samples that are free from systematic errors (unbiased) and require specific sampling strategies.

Own sterological analyses were so far performed on lungs sections to validate an actue asthma model in common marmosets. Also, chicken intestinal sections were evaluated stereologically in cooperation with the Georg-August-University of Göttingen.
