The life of a DPZ employee is filled with many exciting perspectives. In order to visualize these moments, all employees of the DPZ were asked to submit photos for the DPZ photo contest 2013 from their daily work routine, which they personally associate with the DPZ.

The winning photo "She loves me, she loves me not" shows a Barbary macaque (Macaca sylvanus) lying in the grass, picking petals from a daisy. Manfred Eberle shot this picture at the "monkey mountain" in Straußberg. The second most popular image of the contest is an image by Kevin Windolph that shows the hand of a rhesus macaque (Macaca mulatta) trustfully lying in the hand a scientist. A photo made by Christian Schlögl of a juvenile long-tailed macaque (Macaca fascicularis) taking a refreshing shower received the third place.

We are exhibiting the most popular motives of the contest in the entrance hall of the DPZ until January 31. Besides the fascinating images of primates in the wild and at the primate husbandry of the DPZ, the jury was also positively impressed with the microscopy images and technical motifs. For the exhibition, the jury selected twenty photos from more than fifty submissions that convinced them of photographic quality, a good esthetics, and an original design. Employees of the DPZ selected the winners through a voting system and prices were awarded for the top three pictures.

The exhibition is taking place until the end of January and may be seen from Monday to Thursday from 9:00 to 17:00h and on Fridays from 9:00 to 16:00h in the entrance hall of the DPZ. The exhibition is free of charge.
