Radio Show with Stefan Treue

Stefan treue participated in a panel discussion about the alteration of the Protection of Animals Act. A recording of the discussion is now available online.

Stefan Treue, neuroscientist and scientific director of the DPZ, has taken part in a panel discussion about "The new Animal Protection Act and research" on January 17th. The discussion was broadcasted on rbb-inforadio (93,1) on January 20th and is now available online.

The event was part of a series initiated by the Leibniz Association and the radio station.

Topic of the discussion was a forthcoming amendment to the Animal Protection Act by the German Federal Parliament. Stefan Treue is one of the initiators of the Basel Declaration, which demands more trust, better communication, and higher transparency of protagonists of animal research.

Besides Stefan Treue there also disputed Miriam Brandt, the scientific coordinator of the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research, Undine Kurth, the spokeswoman for nature conservation and animal rights of the party Bündnis90/Die Grünen, and Horst Spielmann, the animal welfare officer of the Federal State Berlin in the panel discussion.
