Behavioral biologist Tamás Székely from the University of Bath (UK) is visiting his colleague Peter Kappeler at the German Primate Center since January. Székely received the Research Award of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, which gives foreign researchers the opportunity to cooperate in a scientific project in Germany with a resident colleague. The native Hungarian will work at the DPZ until the end of 2013.

Tamás Székely is professor of Biodiversity at the University of Bath and investigates the mechanisms of breeding and parental care in birds. Peter Kappeler is head of the Behavioral Ecology and Sociobiology Unit at the DPZ and holds a joint professorship with the University of Göttingen. These two experts for mating systems will be investigating the behavioral effects of the female/male ratio within a population together at the DPZ.
